The driver of the minibus, in whose car 14 people died in an accident the day before, was engaged in illegal transportation. On the side of the M-5 “Ural” highway, already at dawn, rescuers cut a minibus turned into fragments of iron. From the car there was only a pile of metal, from which it is difficult to determine what it was before the accident. Fragments of the wrecked bus were scattered all over the roadway, as were the belongings of passengers who were returning from Kazakhstan to Russia on the day of the tragedy.

“There were 17 people, all Kyrgyz. There were three women and 14 men. Now they say that only 3 people survived”, – says eyewitness Dzhulanbeg Mukhamadzhanov.

According to one version, a terrible accident occurred due to non-compliance with the speed limit, as a result, a bus with eighteen passengers was sandwiched between two trucks. The minibus, which was in conjunction with the victim, immediately stopped. Countrymen tried to help the victims.

The buses were heading to Moscow, where the migrants planned to renew their registration in Russia. The dead and injured worked in the capital as couriers and laborers at construction sites.

“His registration was canceled – it is not valid, so he went abroad to get a migration visa again and register again”, – says a friend of the deceased passenger Nurdin Akmatov.

According to our information, there were two minibuses in the convoy, the drivers of which were engaged in private transportation for fellow countrymen. They found clients through social networks and, when a sufficient number were recruited, they set off. This service is popular due to the relatively low cost of the trip. – about 10 thousand rubles.

“Currently, on the fact of an accident in which 16 people died, the investigation team has initiated a criminal case under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Appropriate examinations have been appointed, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.”, – said the senior referent of the OIOS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Sergeenko.

The Investigative Committee has already drawn attention to the terrible accident in the Ulyanovsk region. The investigation of the case was transferred to the central office.
