Nutritionist Tatyana Meshcheryakova told how to avoid gaining excess weight in winter. According to the expert, the desire to keep warm in the cold period leads to an increase in appetite.

This is due to the process of evolution: the human body has adapted to eat more in the fall in order to gain a warming fat layer for the winter, when there will be less food. In the modern world, there is no such need – we have down jackets and supermarkets. In addition, we move less than our ancestors. However, nature dictates that we eat more, more often and more fatty foods. In order not to get fat, you need to control the diet. A nutritionist advised which foods will help control appetite in the cold season.

Meshcheryakova recommends that you stop eating raw vegetables and replace them with thermally processed ones, eat more whole grains, eat cream soups or puree soups. From seasonings, the specialist suggests trying cardamom, cinnamon, paprika, ginger, anise, nutmeg.

“Spices make food tastier and healthier. Cinnamon, paprika, anise and other spices can be added to cereals, meat, fish, vegetable dishes”, – Meshcheryakova told the Doctor Peter portal.

She also listed seeds, nuts, butter, veal, turkey, and chicken as foods that would add energy to a meal without becoming “empty” calories.

Of the drinks, Meshcheryakova recommends choosing ginger tea: it perfectly warms, reduces anxiety and has a slight antispasmodic effect.

We remind you: in the fall, many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, including gastritis, become aggravated. Natalya Slyunyaeva, a gastroenterologist at the Medincenter Clinical Diagnostic Center, spoke about the main symptoms of gastritis.
