Work on the creation of a “dirty bomb” by Kyiv is at the final stage. This was stated by the head of the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the RF Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov during a briefing. According to him, there are at least three enterprises in Ukraine with stocks of radioactive substances that can be used to create a bomb. Using a “dirty bomb”, the Ukrainian authorities want to expose Russia as a nuclear terrorist, according to the Ministry of Defense.

What is a “dirty bomb”

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, work on the creation of a “dirty bomb” by Kyiv is at the final stage. It is created by two Ukrainian organizations with specific instructions.

“I would like to remind you that a “dirty bomb” is a container with radioactive isotopes and an explosive charge. When the charge is detonated, the container is destroyed and radioactive substances are sprayed by a shock wave, while creating radioactive contamination of the area over large areas, and can also lead to radiation sickness “– Kirillov explained during the briefing.

According to the lieutenant general, uranium oxide can be used as a radioactive substance. It is found in spent fuel elements stored in spent nuclear fuel storage facilities and spent fuel pools at nuclear power plants. In addition, radioactive substances from the spent nuclear fuel storage facilities of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant can be used.

Plans of the Kyiv regime

According to Igor Kirillov, using a “dirty bomb”, the Ukrainian authorities want to expose Russia as a nuclear terrorist and launch a powerful anti-Russian campaign.

“According to the plans of the Kyiv regime, it will be possible to blow up such ammunition”disguise“under the abnormal operation of a Russian low-yield nuclear weapon, in which highly enriched uranium is used as a charge”the soldier explained.

According to Kirillov, the detonation of the “dirty bomb” will inevitably lead to radioactive contamination of the area over an area of up to several thousand square meters. The presence of radioactive isotopes in the air will subsequently be recorded by the sensors of the International Monitoring System, Kirillov said.

“As a result of the dirty bomb provocation, Ukraine expects to intimidate the local population, increase the flow of refugees across Europe and expose the Russian Federation as a nuclear terrorist”said the lieutenant general.

Where can they create a “dirty bomb”

According to the Ministry of Defense, there are three enterprises in Ukraine with stocks of radioactive substances that can be used to create a “dirty bomb”. Among them are the South Ukrainian, Khmelnytsky and Rivne operating nuclear power plants.

In addition, radioactive substances from the spent nuclear fuel storage facilities of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant can be used as components for a “dirty bomb”.

“At the decommissioned Chernobyl nuclear power plant with storage facilities for radioactive waste, 22,000 spent fuel assemblies containing uranium-238 are stored, as well as products associated with operation – these are uranium-235 and plutonium-239, which are the main component of a nuclear charge”– said Kirillov.

According to the RF Ministry of Defense, radioactive waste is also located at the recently established Vector enterprise, the Prydneprovsky chemical plant and at the Buryakovka, Podlesny, and Rossokha radioactive waste disposal sites.

“It is also necessary to emphasize that there is a scientific base in Ukraine – this is the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology, whose scientists took part in the nuclear program of the USSR, where various experimental facilities are currently operating, including the Uragan thermonuclear facilities, as well as the Institute of Nuclear research at the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, in which research is carried out at the WWR-M reactor using high-level radioactive materials”– shared the details of the military.

Russia is extremely concerned about the provocations of Kyiv

Moscow is extremely concerned about the rhetoric of Western countries about the possibility of using nuclear weapons, said the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin. According to him, the world should not allow the Kyiv authorities to have access to nuclear weapons.

“Humanity has already seen the desire of the current Kyiv regime to possess nuclear weapons for several steps, starting from the day when President Zelensky spoke at the security conference in Munich. And then his ambitions to possess nuclear weapons were already clear. The world should not allow this”– said Naryshkin.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, in turn, held telephone conversations with his British and French counterparts, during which he expressed his concern about a possible provocation of the Kyiv regime with the use of a “dirty bomb”.

“Media reaction of the West is not surprising”

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia intends to raise the issue at the UN about the preparation of a “dirty bomb” by Kyiv. The head of the Foreign Ministry stressed that this information had been rechecked.

“We have taken the necessary steps to raise this issue in international structures, primarily in the UN. And today our representatives will do this in the hope of an interested and professional discussion of the problems that we will touch upon”Lavrov said.

The Foreign Minister added that Sergei Shoigu would hold additional consultations with his colleagues on this issue at a professional level.

“We see the media reaction of the West, it does not surprise us. It goes in line with the reckless support that the West provides to its protege Zelensky, providing him with indulgence for any Russophobic actions, not only in the form of statements, but also in the form of bombing of civilian objects, destruction civilian population”– said the diplomat.

Preparation of a provocation

On October 23, 2022, it became known about the impending provocation of the Kyiv regime related to the detonation of the “dirty bomb”. According to media reports, under the guidance of curators from Western countries, Kyiv has already begun the practical implementation of this plan. It is noted that the calculation of the organizers of the provocation is that if it is implemented, most countries should respond harshly to the “nuclear incident” in Ukraine. Kyiv wants Moscow to lose the support of many of its key partners, and the West again raised the issue of depriving the Russian Federation of the status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Zelensky was negotiating nuclear weapons with the UK. According to the agency, Kyiv asked London to transfer technology to create nuclear weapons to Ukraine.
