The problem of declining male fertility was called global. As writes RIA Newsan international team of scientists led by Prof. Hagay Levin from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has identified a decrease in sperm concentration in men on all continents.

So, over half a century, the concentration of spermatozoa has halved – from 101 million per milliliter to 49. Moreover, if from 1972 to 2000 the indicator decreased by an average of 1.16 percent per year, now it is by 2.64 percent.

As stated in the material, it is not easy to conceive a child already at 40 million / ml. As Levin said, at the current pace, this level will become the world average in ten years.

Levin called this problem a serious one. According to the professor, it can become a threat to humanity.

In turn, Oleg Apolikhin, chief freelance reproductive health specialist of the Ministry of Health, said that ejaculate worsens in men of all ages, especially in people aged 18 to 30 years.

In February, it was reported that Russian scientists talked about the impact of COVID-19 on male sexual function.
