In 2025, prizes in the field of medical science will be awarded for the first time in Russia, reported the government press service in its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Prizes in the amount of 1 million rubles each will be awarded to domestic scientists for developments that help preserve the lives and health of people and allow them to cope with previously unresolved medical issues.”says the publication.

Awards will be presented for achievements in the field of neurotechnologies, including cognitive, preventive and personalized medicine, and biomedical technologies.

At the same time, the relevant technological and scientific solutions must be used in practice for at least one year, the resolution says.

The award winners will be determined by the government based on the decision of the interdepartmental council, the composition of which will be approved by the Ministry of Health.

The competition for selecting nominees will start annually on March 1, and the award ceremony will take place no later than November 30, the press service concluded.

Earlier, Anton Kobyakov, adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposed creating an alternative version of the Nobel Peace Prize within the BRICS framework. According to him, this would be the correct response to the hopeless bias of the Nobel Committee and other once authoritative institutions.
