The November elections in the United States are aimed at renewal of the federal Congress (435 seats in the lower house and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate), as well as the election of governors and local authorities in 39 states.
As a rule, interest in these elections is much lower than in presidential ones, and they are usually viewed as an assessment of the performance of the president in office.
But this time, the arrogance and ambition of conservative Republicans could make a difference. So much so that some analysts are beginning to consider it possible that the declared Republican tide will remain only in the announcement.
Until a few weeks ago, the topics of the elections were Presidency of Joe Bidenafflicted by a troubled economy and agony COVID-19 pandemic, the situation created by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the eternal disputes over gun control.

For most of the new voters, motivation can be found in the Supreme Court’s decision last June to dismiss Roe v. Roe. Wade in 1972 on abortion rights guarantees and subsequent restrictions in Republican-ruled states.
In some states, the restrictions are such that they do not accept the procedure, even in cases of rape or in an example, because the minor was not mature enough to undergo the procedure. Formally, in addition, the Republicans wanted the states to determine their position, but at least 28 of them are pushing the proposal that the ban should also be federal. According to Bonnier, the result so far is that women are registering to vote in unprecedented numbers.
The New York Times estimated that the 10-state increase in female enrollment since June was 35 percent from previous months. The growth is due to the impact of the leaked reports on the decision and the definition itself.
The problem is compounded by the fact that women have become frequently mobilized to vote on gender equality issues, especially among young women. In recent years, they have become an important group in the democratic coalition.
Of course, nothing is written in politics, and the vote is two months away, but the combination of abortion and Donald Trump’s political and legal problems could derail what the Republicans had hoped would be a great victory.
