The Anti-Corruption High Court alleges that the MP did not attend court hearings without valid reason, ignoring legal requirements.
The panel of judges of the Anti-Corruption High Court decided to forcibly take him to court, after he failed to appear in court once again, the people’s attorney, who was accused of giving false information worth UAH 88 million. This was announced by the VAKS press service on February 21.
The publication traditionally does not mention the name of the accused, but according to Ukrayinska Pravda’s sources, it is Serhiy Shakhov, the people’s deputy.
In the VAKS message, it is stated that the representative of the public did not attend the hearings without an excuse. In particular, on November 22 last year, the anti-corruption court ordered Shakhov to pay 5,000 hryvnia for not appearing in court. Almost a month later, on January 17, 2023, the court made a similar decision – the amount of the fine increased to 10,700 UAH. And on February 21, the deputy once again ignored the meeting and did not appear in the courtroom.
In the message, “The court decided to bring the accused to the court because he did not come. The meeting is scheduled for 03/01/2023.”
VAKS press service, in its statement for 2020, announced that the people’s deputy did not provide information about a residence in use, a land plot in the Kiev region and an office. In addition, it was learned that the public attorney did not include the property and income information of his common-law wife in his declaration. We are talking about assets worth 87.6 million UAH in total.

The people’s deputy said that the Ukrainian authorities and law enforcement agencies tried to put pressure on him, but, according to him, they “won’t succeed.”
On January 24, VAKS decided to place Vasily Lozinsky, former Deputy Minister of Communities, Regions and Infrastructure Development, under house arrest until 22 March 2023. Nor was the former official allowed to change his place of residence or work and leave Kiev without the prior warning of the relevant authorities.
