“Swept out of the Kremlin.” Putin could be ousted from power after British general-Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattack

Valery Gerasimov and Russia’s top military leadership could remove the Russian leader from the presidency, according to Richard Dannat, Russia’s commander of the Joint Forces Group in Ukraine.

With a successful counterattack operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the power of Russian President Vladimir Putin can be noticeably weakened. This was expressed on March 5 by General Richard Dannat, the former chief of the British General Staff, in an interview with Sky News.

“I would like to think that if Ukraine’s counterattack is well planned, supported, and executed well enough, Putin won’t be in a position to make too many decisions on his own. And I think if his army splinters and flees, it’s quite possible that he will be kicked out of the Kremlin,” Dannat said.

The British general said the war could end as early as this year if Kiev soon receives more heavy tanks from Germany and the United States, as well as warplanes and other essential weapons.

“Honestly, I don’t think we’ve done enough. We should do everything we can to make sure the war ends this year,” said Dannat.

The former chief of the British General Staff noted that Russia’s military leadership was dissatisfied with Putin’s actions, so they would likely have a hand in making the Russian president lose power.

“The Russian high command doesn’t like Putin getting into a war he’s not participating in. I think it will be Gerasimov.” [глава Генштаба РФ] and top generals who will fire Putin. You should also ask the question everyone is asking: If not Putin in the Kremlin, who will? To be honest, I don’t know the answer to this question. But I would say that the most unhappy group of leaders in Russia right now are the top generals,” he said.

Recall, on March 2, retired US Marine Corps Colonel Mark Kantsian said that in order for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to be able to successfully liberate another part of the occupied territory, the West must solve the problem with the large-scale supply of ammunition to Ukraine.

Earlier on February 28, the Associated Press wrote that the northeastern front could be decisive for the next phase of the war in Ukraine.

We also remember that on January 24, the Chief of the General Staff of Russia Valery Gerasimov acknowledged the failure of the mobilization in Russia and said that modern Russia has never seen such intense hostility in its history.
