Ukraine’s entry into NATO: three countries did not approve the “road map” for Kiev

The USA, Germany and Hungary are ready to help Ukraine technically and financially. However, diplomats representing these states were opposed to giving Kiev the “road map” necessary for Alliance membership.

The United States, Germany and Hungary do not support the preparation of a “road map” for Ukraine to join NATO. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing its sources.

At the meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the alliance in Brussels this week, it was reported in the press that the representatives of the countries could not find a common language on the “Ukrainian problem”.

Moreover, most NATO diplomats believe that Ukraine’s entry into the alliance is impossible in the short run. The reason is the Russia-Ukraine war.

“We have weeks of difficult negotiations ahead of us to close these differences and reach a political conclusion,” the official said, speaking to the press on an anonymous basis.

The media also report that the Baltic states and Poland are the most serious countries about Ukraine’s NATO membership.

In response, the US offered a compromise option: to focus now on providing military, financial and humanitarian aid to Kiev.

Remember, on April 4, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said when Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance. He also thanked the Ukrainians for their position and explained how the organization plans to help the country in the future.

We also wrote that on April 4, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba spoke about disagreements with the Allies over NATO membership. According to the Foreign Minister, at the Alliance’s summer summit in Vilnius, the countries will have the opportunity to correct the main mistake of 2008. Also, the “open doors” narrative will no longer apply to Ukraine.
