According to the minister, we are talking about developing a multi-year plan to support Ukraine, seeking specific security guarantees and improving interaction with NATO in the long term.
At the NATO summer summit to be held in Vilnius on 11-12 July, many important decisions will be made not only for Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance, but also for Ukraine. This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in the broadcast of the telethon on Friday, April 7th.
The minister advised “not to hang around” about Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
“Many other decisions will be made (at NATO summit – ed.). No need to get hung up on this (we’re talking about membership – ed.),” Kuleba said.
In his view, we are talking specifically about the development of a multi-year plan to support Ukraine, the search for certain security guarantees and enhanced interaction with NATO.
“There are many things that have been done, but the key, namely the pearl in this crown, is the question of how we are moving towards membership,” the minister said.
Recall that on April 4, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine would become a member of the Alliance after winning the war.
On the same day, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba spoke about disagreements with the Allies over NATO membership.
And as early as April 6, the Financial Times wrote that the United States, Germany, and Hungary do not support the preparation of a “roadmap” for Ukraine’s accession to NATO. The publication reported that the delegates could not find a common language on the “Ukrainian question”.
