Deputies dismissed the head of the Kiev Regional Council, Natalia Gunko, ahead of schedule. 67 votes were cast for the relevant decision. This was stated in a press release of the Kiev Regional Council on May 8.

According to the ministry, on May 8, deputies were supposed to receive a report from Natalia Gunko, but she “once again ignored the meeting” and did not attend the meeting.

As early as April 27, the executive office of the district council registered a proposal to address the discussion of his dismissal for inadequate performance of his powers. But first he needed to prepare a special report on his work in 2022.

“Given that Natalya Gunko did not write a letter of resignation, there was a secret ballot in which 67 out of 74 supported her resignation,” the report says.

Temporarily, the duties of the head of the Kiev Regional Council were given to the first deputy, Yaroslav Dobryansky.

According to him, false information is spreading on the Internet that he himself has decided to leave the position, but this is not true.

“I officially declare that all such information is the manipulation of political forces trying to stage a coup in the regional council using all available methods, despite the martial law in the country,” the message said.

He took up the post of chairman of the Kiev Regional Council on April 27, 2021, as he was the only candidate for this post. Other groups did not put forward their candidacy for reasons unknown.

In the past, he was elected to the district council from the Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko.
