The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is asking Hungary to end provocations after the scandal when the Hungarian government published a map of Crimea as part of Russia. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Saturday, June 3rd.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the publication of such a map contradicts Budapest’s official position to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
The Ministry stressed that Hungary should put an end to its provocative actions and fulfill its international obligations under the UN, EU and NATO membership.
“To act together with Russia’s aggressive policy will not contribute to a faster restoration of peace in Europe, which the Hungarian government has publicly defended,” said the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Hungarian government depicted Crimea on map as part of Russia
Recall that on May 30, the Hungarian government posted on its YouTube channel a map showing Crimea as part of Russian territory. The mapped video calls for peace in Ukraine, talks about the suffering of children, the destruction of cities and the problems of refugees.
