The Ukrainian leader stressed that now we can only talk about the approximate number of victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war. After all, in the lands occupied by Russia, many children die and remain forever in the ruins of houses, as in Mariupol.
During the large-scale war with the Russian Federation, the invaders killed about 500 Ukrainian children. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this on Sunday (June 4th).
“Russian terrorism has claimed the lives of hundreds of our children, and only since February 24, during a full-scale war, the deaths of 485 children are known for certain,” said the President.
Zelensky explained that this is not the last number of children killed during the war. These are just small Ukrainians whose deaths have been documented. And the actual number of children killed is much higher.
“Every time we liberate our land from the Russian invaders, we learn the terrible truth about the occupation. How many people, how many children are buried in the occupied territory – about how many people are buried in the graves of this war, this aggression … and how many people are buried. Ukrainian cities and villages burned by Russia are still in ruins. ” said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also touched upon the issue of deportation of children from Ukraine to the Russian Federation. According to him, in this case, Ukraine also does not have real figures.
“We have precise information about at least 19,505 Ukrainian children deported, and this is only a fraction of our little Ukrainians and Ukrainian women who are still with the enemy,” the president said.
He added that as of today, only 371 minor children have been extradited from Russia to Ukraine.
Recall that details emerged about a two-year-old girl who died during the bombardment on June 4th. The Russian Armed Forces launched a missile at the suburbs of the Dnieper River while a two-year-old boy and his mother were in the apartment. The woman who managed to survive the wreckage was taken to the hospital. But his daughter is dead.
Also on the same day, new information emerged about children injured during a missile attack in the suburbs of the Dnieper. The head of the region stated that 3 children and young people were treated in the hospital after the operation. A child, two-year-old Lisa, was pulled from the rubble of the already lifeless collapsed house.
