The Rada will remove Shufrich from the post of chairman of the committee on freedom of expression – “Servant of the People”

According to the sole majority representative, the dismissal of the people’s representative could happen as early as this week, and they plan to offer his post to one of the opposition factions or factions.

At the upcoming meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, the issue of dismissal of Deputy Nestor Shufrych from the post of chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Expression will be discussed. It is important to note that this initiative does not intend to eliminate the Committee itself. This was reported in a comment to RBC-Ukraine by Evgenia Kravchuk, deputy chairman of the Servant of the People group.

“Of course, at the next meeting his (Shufrich – ed.) dismissal will take place. According to the information currently available, the Committee will continue to work. The liquidation of this Committee would be strange, among other things, in terms of a perspective on what the headlines could be : “The Verkhovna Rada is liquidating the Committee on Freedom of Expression.” This can be misinterpreted, especially under martial law,” the people’s representative said.

At the same time, according to the publication, Shufrich’s dismissal could happen as early as this week, and they plan to offer his post to one of the opposition groups or factions.

On Friday, September 15, the SBU detained the deputy of the banned party OPZZh Nestor Shufrych. Journalist Yuri Butusov reported that the people’s deputy was “a defendant in the case of a Russian spy network created by an employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation and former Ukrainian people’s deputy Vladimir Sivkovich.”

Nestor Shufrich was suspected of treason. According to the SBU, the deputy cooperated closely with and fulfilled the duties of the FSB agent, former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Vladimir Sivkovich, whose job was to coordinate Russian agents in Ukraine.

According to journalists, during the search of Nestor Shufrich, they found a document dated 2014 signed by him and Viktor Medvedchuk, which stated that the Donetsk and Lugansk regions should become part of Russia as “regions with broad autonomy.”

Nestor Shufrich claims he was “betrayed” by authorities in parliamentary investigations into the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of Judge Chaus during Petro Poroshenko’s presidency.
