Law enforcement agencies stated that they contacted the Presidency, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a proposal to take into account information about the enemy’s plans when coordinating business trips of Ukrainian delegations abroad. After that, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada did not allow Poroshenko’s business trip.
Fifth President Petro Poroshenko plans to meet with Hungary’s pro-Russian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said. The Russian Federation planned to use this meeting in its IPSO. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
SBU and Ukrainian intelligence agencies received information that Russian intelligence agencies were preparing international provocations against Ukraine.
“The enemy’s main goal is to reduce the support of foreign partners and try to divide Ukrainian society from within,” the message says.
Law enforcement agencies note that they contacted the Presidential Office, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a proposal to take into account information about the enemy’s plans when organizing and coordinating business trips of Ukrainian delegations abroad.
After that, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada did not allow Poroshenko to travel abroad.
“According to the plans of the Russian special services, conducting a large-scale IPSO should lead to a change in sentiment in the partner countries of the anti-Russian coalition and encourage representatives of Ukrainian politics to declare narratives about the need for a negotiation process. He added that law enforcement officials are negotiating with the Russian Federation on the terms of freezing the war.
According to the SBU, Russian special services planned to actively support the relevant statements through pro-Russian political forces of foreign states.
Also, as reported by law enforcement agencies, the enemy’s plans included including Ukrainian politicians in IPSO during their visits to third countries.
“According to the received counterintelligence data, information about the planned meeting of the Chairman of the European Solidarity Party, Petro Poroshenko, with Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who systematically expressed his anti-Ukrainian attitude, was in this context “a friend of Putin”, “Press service, “and the Russian Federation” “Calls for the lifting of sanctions against Turkey may be taken into consideration,” he said.
The SBU notes that the enemy plans to use this meeting (like other “working meetings” of domestic politicians with representatives of states that publish pro-Russian narratives) in their IPSO against Ukraine.
Travel abroad – details of the situation with Poroshenko
It should be noted that on December 1, Petro Poroshenko announced that he could not go abroad on a business trip, even though he had the appropriate permit signed by Stefanchuk. At the border, employees of the State Border Guard Service stopped him and stated that this permit was canceled.
Later, a screenshot of the document to which the border guards referred was published by European Solidarity Party deputy Alexey Goncharenko. The text indicates that it was published on November 29, two days before the incident at the border.
The media wrote about the border crossing incidents that happened to Poroshenko from time to time in the spring of 2023. In particular, he was released from Ukraine only on the third attempt – the politician was heading towards the top of the European People’s Party. A similar situation occurred before the Russian invasion: in January 2022, he was not allowed to enter Brussels.
Let us recall that on November 30, a document appeared in which groups and factions in the parliament agreed that the next Rada elections should be held after the war. Meanwhile, one of the Ukrainian experts suggested that these elections, unlike the presidential elections, could be held in 2024.
