The Board of Directors of FC Barcelona, meeting this Monday at a regular meeting, approved the budget for the 2022-2023 season, which provides for an operating income of 1,255 million euros and a profit of 274 million euros.
Similarly, the board closed the financial year 2021-22 today with a turnover of 1,017 million euros and a profit of 98 million euros.
On the other hand, the meeting scheduled the next meeting of the Compromisers for October 9, which will be telematically.
On the same day, Barcelona will host Celta Vigo at Spotify’s Camp Nou in Matchday 8 of La Liga Santander at 21:00 CET.
At this working meeting, the Board of Directors was also informed about the progress of the demolition of part of the third tier of the stadium’s south gate, which began on 1 September. Some papers have suggested taking advantage of the window of opportunity provided by the break in World Championship competition from November to December.
On the other hand, the development of the basic extended reform project of Spotify Camp Nou has been completed under the leadership of the Japanese company Nikken Sekkei, together with IDOM and b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, whose contract ended on August 15th.
According to the club, therefore, there was no termination of the contract, as reported in recent days in some media, but rather a termination of the contract.
Once the expanded base design is completed, the bidding process for the new stadium has already begun. And in parallel, the bidding process corresponding to the direction of work was completed.
At a meeting this Monday, the Board of Directors of FC Barcelona approved that this task should be entrusted to a joint venture formed by the Catalan companies Engineering and Architecture Torrella and JG Engineers. This joint venture will lead the construction phase of the new stadium, taking over the design of the IDOM and the b720.
At the same time, Barça continue to work with Nikken Sekkei, the winner of the 2016 new stadium design competition, on Spotify Camp Nou’s Design Guardian tasks, supporting the bidding process for the works, drafting the Execution Design and directing the work.
In the coming quarters, tenders for executive work management (surveyor), occupational safety and health control (occupational risks) and quality control will begin.
