Ronaldo Nazario, former footballer, better known as “The Phenomenon” shared the list with names of who you think they are the highest representatives in the history of football and was surprised that he did not include Cristiano Ronaldo neither to his compatriot Neymar.
During an interview with The Guardian, Ronaldo he only chose 7 players and included himself despite not being given a cap.
“I think there is a special group of players who have Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, (Johan) Cruyff, (Franz) Beckenbauer, Pele, (Marco) van Basten, Ronaldinho. I would include myself between them,” he said.
While he didn’t mention Cristiano Ronaldo, considered by many to be one of the best footballers of the 21st century, The Phenomenon hinted at his “namesake” and the next who could come to football.
“People call me “the real Ronaldo” but I am not the only one and more will come and maybe they will be better than me in everything, ”he said.
As for his compatriot Neymar, the former footballer has made no secret of his admiration for him, despite not turning him on and hinting that his off-pitch behavior might be controversial, but making it clear he doesn’t care.
“If we talk specifically about football, I doubt that there is anyone who does not like it. His personal life goes beyond football, but that doesn’t interest me. He is bold, he has skill, he is versatile, he is fast, he scores goals and he has personality,” he said.
“Neymar can be compared to Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo even if they are “from another planet”. It’s one thing for Neymar on the field, another thing off it, so people often confuse things,” he concluded.
