Ukrainian boxer Lomachenko inflicted the first defeat on American Ortiz

Ukrainian boxer Vasily Lomachenko defeated American fighter Jamaine Ortiz by unanimous decision. The main event of the boxing tournament was held in New York.

The fight in the weight category up to 61.23 kg lasted for all 12 rounds with varying success. Lomachenko won by decision of the judges.

For 26-year-old Ortiz, this is the first defeat in his career.

This was Lomachenko’s third fight since October 2020, when he lost to Teofim Lopez and lost his World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Council (WBC) world titles.

The 34-year-old boxer is also a two-time Olympic winner. In the professional ring, the Ukrainian won 17 victories. Two more fights ended in defeat.
