Russian boxer light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol was recognized as the best boxer in the world by the World Boxing Association (WBA). This was reported on the website of the company “World of Boxing”.
The award was presented to Bivol by the president of the association, Gilberto Mendoza.
“I want to express my gratitude. I am very happy to be part of the WBA. The WBA gave me the chance to win and defend my world title. Many people tried to take it away from me, and I fought a lot of fights for the title. Thank you very much. And a lot of thanks to my team … ” Bivol said.

On November 6, Bivol defeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez and defended his WBA world title. Bivol has already defended the WBA title ten times, which he has held since 2017. In the professional ring, Dmitry is still undefeated: he has 21 wins, 11 of them by knockout.
