Former absolute world boxing champion Kostya Tszyu supported Russian hockey player Ivan Provorov, who plays for the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club, who refused to wear a sweater with LGBT symbols.

“I support our hockey player, completely what he said, what he did,” – said the boxer.

According to him, the situation in which they tried to drag Provorov is “insanity, not politics.”

“I’m glad he’s a normal man” Tszyu added.

Earlier, the head coach of “Philadelphia” John Tortorella said respect for the decision of the Russians, noting that Provorov is true to himself and his religion.

Recall, on January 18, Provorov refused to participate in a rally in support of LGBT people before the NHL match against Anaheim. The hockey player emphasized that the decision is connected with his religious considerations.

On December 5, 2022, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a law banning LGBT propaganda.

Amendments made to a number of documents completely prohibit the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and gender reassignment in films, advertising and the media. The Federation Council approved this bill on November 30, and the State Duma adopted it a week earlier.
