The most titled footballer in history, a former player of the Brazilian national team, Barcelona and Sevilla, now playing for the Mexican team Pumas, Dani Alves has been detained in Barcelona on suspicion of sexual harassment. This is reported by the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

According to the publication, a 23-year-old woman wrote a statement against the athlete on January 2. She claims that on the night of December 30, Alves put his hand under her underwear at the Sutton nightclub. Immediately after the incident, she notified the club’s security, which called the police, but the player managed to escape before they arrived. After that, the woman was sent for examination to the center for victims of sexual violence.

After the victim filed a statement, the Catalan police arrested the footballer. The court will determine the measure of restraint for him.

Alves himself denied all charges during interrogation. Also speaking publicly was his wife, who stated that her husband never allowed himself to be disrespectful towards women, while women often brazenly harass her husband, even in her presence.
