Russia’s transition to the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) is fully consistent with the level of Russian players, said Dmitry Peskov, chairman of the board of trustees of the Russian Chess Federation, press secretary of the president, to RIA Novosti.
“It is also important to note that, in fact, the Asian federation now unites the countries with the highest level of chess, where there are the most world-class grandmasters”– he said.
Peskov pointed out the importance of this circumstance, since the level of the Asian teams corresponds to the abilities of Russian chess players.
At the same time, he urged to act carefully in the issue of the transition of other sports federations to Asia and stressed that this should be decided by specialists.
Earlier it became known about the transition of the CFR to the Asian Chess Federation. The overwhelming majority of the delegates of the ACF congress in Abu Dhabi were in favor of receiving Russia.
