Ukrainian anthem at the European Judo Cup: participant of the Olympic Dreams project took first place in the tournament

Ukrainian athlete and participant of the Olympic Dreams project, Anna Oleinik-Korniyko, won a gold medal in the “up to 70 kg” category at the European Judo Cup, one of the biggest tournaments of the year in this sport.

Anna joined the national cadet team of Ukraine. In total, the Ukrainian champion won 5 fights with athletes from Hungary, Bulgaria, France, England and Serbia.

Recall that the project of the Olympic Dreams international camps is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, the Ukrainian embassies in Greece and Cyprus, and the partners and patrons of the “Maybutne – children” Charity Foundation. .

In the summer and autumn of 2022, three groups of athletes went to Greece, where the first format of such camps was held. A friendly international judo tournament with athletes from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Ukraine was also held here. While 9 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals were won as a result of the tournament, Ukrainian athletes won 5 more medals in official international tournaments after the camp.

Also in February 2023, another group of athletes training on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus participated in the international judo competition Cyprus International Judo Tournament 2023, in which 8 countries of the world were represented with more than 700 participants. Under the guidance of Ukrainian judoka, Honored Trainer of Ukraine Karen Balayan and Alexandra Starkova, Olympic College students won 30 medals, 14 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze, in the five-year-old category.
