Former Dynamo coach Slavisa Jokanovic showed disrespect towards the team by announcing his departure in a dry message in the general chat. This was told to journalists by the goalkeeper of the football club Igor Leshchuk.
Recall that on May 14, Dynamo lost to Akhmat with a score of 0:3 in the match of the 27th round of the Russian Championship. After the defeat, the club’s board of directors was convened, resulting in the decision to resign Jokanovic.
“With the resignation of Slavisa Jokanovic, everyone exhaled, it became a little easier. <...> There was tension in the team after the defeats in previous meetings”– says Leshchuk.
However, the players learned from media reports that Jokanovic was leaving Dynamo, because he did not even come to say goodbye to the team before leaving.
“It was just a message from him in the chat that he was leaving. I think this is disrespect towards us. Still, we worked together for almost a year, we could come up and shake hands with everyone”said the goalkeeper.
Six days after losing to Akhmat, on May 20, the team beat Torpedo, scoring three goals. It is noteworthy that this was the first match played under the guidance of acting head coach Pavel Alpatov. According to Leshchuk, now football has become “more understandable.”
“We did the same exercises throughout the season, showed incomprehensible and boring football on the field. And now, in a week, they explained to us what we all need to play together”– said the athlete.
Now, Dynamo plans to win the remaining three matches – such a task was set by the leadership.
