The Moscow football club “Spartak” has achieved a reduction in the disqualification of the team’s forward Alexander Sobolev from four to three meetings in the World RPL. It is reported by “Sport-Express” with reference to the head of the press service of the “red-white” Dmitry Zelenov.
“The Appeal Committee considered our appeal and reduced the period of suspension for Alexander Sobolev from four matches to three. The fourth match of the suspension is now conditional”Zelenov said.
Earlier it was reported that Sobolev was disqualified for an insulting gesture, which was shown to the defender of the capital CSKA Willian Roche during the match of the 28th round of the last season of the RPL World held on May 21, in which Spartak met with the red-blue. During the game, the Spartak player made an obscene gesture towards the Brazilian, who repeated the gesture towards the assistant referee, trying to get a fair punishment for Alexander Sobolev. However, the chief referee of the match, Sergey Karasev, sent off both players, which caused bewilderment among the football community. The very same meeting ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Spartak.
Fans considered Roshi’s gesture not an insult, but a repetition, so that the judge would pay attention to the incident, because the Brazilian does not speak Russian and English. After that, the FTC canceled the red card of the “soldiers”, said “SE”.
Later, Spartak appealed to the RFU Appeals Committee to reduce the disqualification of 26-year-old Sobolev.
Last season, Alexander Sobolev played 32 games for Spartak in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and making nine assists.
