Jones says Prescott will become a season guard

Dak Prescott has been under scrutiny from Dallas fans due to his high salary but not Super Bowl success in recent seasons.

Prescott’s contract runs until 2024 and team owner Jerry Jones is hoping he’ll stay with him for the long haul.

“There is never a moment when it disappears because everything has to be put in order. So, you mean the decision on the player in six months. It’s just something fundamental. We hope that Dak stays with us for a long time. And yes, we will always work around them with numerous numerical shenanigans that can work.”

Jones wouldn’t say there’s confidence in a contract extension, but he’s capable of sitting down and talking at the best moment of the season.

“We all know, and I know I know, that there are times when you get up and feel like you want to close something that might not be completed. If I have the opportunity to do it, we will do it. This should sound flexible, because it is. This is the moving part. The real life situation we’re dealing with is trauma, and we’re dealing with rising costs and diminishing talent levels.
