An athlete from Belarus recently buried his fiancee. And she has already dated racer Georgios Frangoulis, whose wife is preparing for a scandalous divorce.
Famous tennis player Aryna Sabalenka found herself in the middle of a love scandal after going public with her new boyfriend. Her new lover is Formula 1 racer-turned-entrepreneur Georgios Frangoulis. The problem is that Georgis is married, and Sabalenka has just buried her fiancé, Russian-Belarusian hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, who left his wife and children for her. The Daily Mail writes about this.
26-year-old Sabalenka posted photos on social media taken at the track in Imola, Italy, where the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix took place. Arina took a break from her preparations for the French Open, which starts in Paris this weekend, in order to compete and holiday with her new boyfriend.
Her post led to the two-time Grand Slam winning Belarusian athlete being subjected to a barrage of cruel and offensive comments.
She previously dated hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, who left his wife and three children to pursue a relationship with her. He was found dead in a hotel in Miami a few weeks ago. Police suspect he committed suicide.
Now Brazilian-born Frangoulis, 35, looks set to head to divorce court after his wife announced the end of their eight-year marriage.
After Sabalenka and Frangulis were seen kissing, a tennis fan reportedly sent a private message to Frangulis’ wife, Beh Armentano, asking if Sabalenka had “ruined her marriage.”
Bekh said she was “married to Georgios but wanted a divorce” and the tennis player began dating her husband “since the California days.”
Frangoulis is the founder of superfood brand Oakberry, which sponsors the American Formula 1 team Haas.
It is unknown when he first met Sabalenka, but she signed a two-year sponsorship deal with his brand in January, just days before bidding to successfully defend her Australian Open title.
Some fans expressed shock that Sabalenka publicly announced her new love so soon after Koltsov’s death on March 18, after he fell 23 stories from the balcony of a five-star hotel in Miami.
The tennis player later said her four-year relationship with the former NFL star ended before the tragedy struck.
Before his relationship with the tennis player, Belarusian Koltsov represented his country in two Winter Olympics and was the head coach of the national team. He married real estate agent and interior designer Yulia Mikhailova.
Latvian-born Mikhailova was left heartbroken after Koltsov left the family when the youngest of their three children was still very young. Mikhailova said that, in her opinion, her husband was drinking on the night of the tragedy and his death occurred as a result of an accident.
She said Koltsov planned to visit her and her sons, 18-year-old Daniil, 16-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Stefan, at their home near the hotel where he died.
Let us remind you that Konstantin Koltsov died on March 18. Police found no suicide note but said there was no doubt it was not suicide. Koltsov, who travels regularly to Sabalenka’s tennis tournaments, was in Miami to support his girlfriend’s performance at the Miami Open.
