Russian Lukyanenko wins Paralympic gold in 100m breaststroke

Russian swimmer Darya Lukyanenko won the Paralympic Games in Paris. The athlete finished first, swimming the 100-meter breaststroke. The Russian took part in the SB11 class.

The Russian swimmer also set a new Paralympic record. Lukyanenko covered the distance in 1 minute 18.31 seconds. She was followed by the representative of China Ma Jia (+0.93 seconds). The top three was completed by the Cypriot Karolina Pelendritou (+3.33).

Lukyanenko brought the Russian team its 15th gold at the Paralympics in Paris. The team also has 18 silver and bronze medals.

Let us recall that earlier on September 5, Russian swimmer Maria Pavlova also won a gold medal at the Paralympic Games, winning the 100m breaststroke. She took part in the swim for athletes in the SB7 class.
