The capital derby between Spartak and CSKA took place in Moscow at the VEB Arena stadium as part of the 14th round of the World – RPL. The red-whites won with a score of 2:0.
In the first half, Theo Bongonda opened the scoring with an accurate shot into the far corner after a solo pass.
The main events on the field unfolded in the second forty-five minutes. First, there was a massive brawl on the field, after which army player Willian Rocha and Spartak player Ruslan Litvinov were sent off.
Then CSKA player Ivan Oblyakov went to the locker room early for two yellow cards.
In the eighth added minute, the final result was set by Jesus Medina, who managed to throw over Igor Akinfeev.
It is worth noting that thanks to the victory, Spartak surpassed CSKA in the league standings. Dejan Stankovic’s team has 25 points, the red-blues have 24. The teams occupy fifth and sixth places in the RPL.
