Auto market Italy 2022, August closed at 9.9% 01 September 2022 20

Finally, after 13 consecutive negative months, the Italian car market is showing a positive sign. August 2022in fact, it closes with 9.9% growth (71,190 units registered) compared to the same period in 2021 (64,767 registrations). However, UNRAE indicates that the month of August 2021 ended extremely negatively with a collapse of 27%. However, the growth in August does not allow recovering the losses of the previous months.

In fact, 865,044 cars were registered in Italy in the first 8 months of the year, down 18.4% from 2021 (down 195,000 cars).

ing on this month’s results, UNRAE President Mishe Crisci expressed satisfaction with the recent changes in the structure of incentives with the introduction of an additional premium and the inclusion of legal entities in the number of beneficiaries.

The Association expresses satisfaction with the inclusion of legal entities among the beneficiaries of low emission vehicle incentives, albeit inexplicably limited to the rental channel, deeming the distinction based on the purchase method unreasonable and therefore excluding in the final text of the Prime Minister’s Decree, those who buy in cash or rent. Now, however, we hope to speed up the procedures envisaged for the full operation of the provision as much as possible, given the approaching deadline of December 31st as the deadline for using the exemption.

In addition, the President of UNRAE reiterates the need to accelerate the construction of charging infrastructure in Italy in order to promote the spread of electric vehicles.

It is necessary to define a precise time schedule indicating the times, places and types of public pumps to be installed, as well as the entities responsible for making investments, as well as encouraging the spread of private charging infrastructure from a long term perspective.
