Xbox has officially unveiled its new Friends and Family service. will allow users who have a Game Pass subscription to share it with loved ones.
Thus, for the payment of one subscription can have up to five people access to the entire catalog of games available on Xbox Game Pass, featuring hundreds of games, both classic and recent.
Microsoft says that each user will be able to have a personalized experience because they will each have their own story, achievements, saved games, and gaming preferences. With a Friends & Family subscription, users also receive additional benefits such as an EA Play membership.which grants the player access to a select list of Electronic Arts games at no additional cost.
In addition, it also includes all the benefits found in Xbox Live Gold, i.e. free games monthly and discounts on select products.
They add that adding users to the group of participants will be possible only from the main account, that is, from the one who initially subscribed. Likewise, all group members must reside in the same country, otherwise they cannot be added to the new service.
Group members who move from another country will immediately lose access to the benefits offered by their subscription. They should also consider that there is a limit of one group change per year per person, so a user cannot be in multiple groups at the same time or change them regularly.
Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family will cost $24.99 per month in the US., while in Europe it will be only 21.99 euros. It should be noted that for now it is only available in Colombia and Ireland, however this list is expected to expand in the coming months.
As part of a promotional offer, users who wish to purchase only a Game Pass subscription can opt for the Ultimate version in exchange for a $1/month payment for the first month of service.
