How to Merge Duplicate Contacts in iOS 16

iOS 16 is designed to make the most of the iPhone. and make it easier for users to perform certain tasks that can become extremely tedious. One of them is to be able to identify contacts scheduled on the phone that are duplicates.

It is normal that, for one reason or another, when a phone number is stored, it may be programmed several times., which leads to misuse of computer memory. Just to solve this problem Apple decided to include a feature that allows you to combine these contactsthereby eliminating any unnecessary duplicates.

Best of all, it’s an extremely simple and fast process that doesn’t require the user to go through an excessive number of procedures. This is something similar to the elimination of duplicate images in the iPhone feed, which we have already talked about earlier.

Here’s how to delete duplicate contacts using the dedicated feature in iOS 16:

1. First step – enter the contacts application from the main menu of the device. If you can’t find it easily, you can use the search engine by sliding the screen down from the center and entering its name in the field that appears at that moment.

2. Once you are in the application, you must scroll down to the last contact you have scheduled on your phone, as below this the system will tell you how many contacts you have saved and how many of them are duplicates. If there are no duplicate numbers, the system will only show the total number of contacts. To access duplicates, you must click on the number that appears on the screen.

3. This will redirect you to a new window where they will tell you which contacts are in question and how many times each of them is repeated.

At this moment at the bottom of the screen you will be able to see a button called “Merge All” which, once you click it, will take care of merging each and every one of the duplicate contacts.. This will be done automatically, so you won’t have to do anything other than wait for the process to complete, which shouldn’t take long.
