Silla Energy Hub 149: bi-directional charging, storage and management of photovoltaic cells | Video October 15, 2022 36

Silla, an Italian e-mobility start-up that has developed products such as the Prism wall box, announced Energy Center 149a product that answers the challenges of smart home and smart mobility and that will allow bi-directional charging of vehicles. Silla will bring Energy Hub 149 to the Paris Motor Show, which will be held from 17 to 23 October.

This novelty, which was already expected in Rome last autumn at the planning stage, is now one step closer to commercialization. Silla explains that Energy Hub 149″stays ahead of automotive engineering trends and offers a comprehensive and advanced solution for home consumption and communications management in a single center, integrating multiple functions in one smart technology device.“.

In addition, it also works as a solar inverter, a storage system, a smart electric vehicle charger with type 2 connector, a UPS to keep the network sealed even in case of a sudden blackout or blackout, and a modem router to connect to the network. internet the whole house.

The idea behind this product is very simple. Today, if you want to equip your home with all those devices that make it as efficient as possible, perhaps to achieve energy independence (photovoltaic system, storage system …), integration is not at all easy. In addition to solar panels and a battery, you should install inverters, a grid gateway, and more, and if you also have an electric car, you should also consider a recharging point.

Thus, with the Energy Hub 149, Silla wants offer a unique product which allows you to integrate all these devices for the simplest possible management of the ecosystem. The most interesting thing he has also bi-directional charging. Therefore, in the future it will be possible to use the energy contained in car batteries to power the house if necessary. Silla’s product is also modular, that is, it was created to be replenished with new modules in order to expand its functionality. In addition, it has a large display for easy setup by installers.

In fact, inside the well-designed box we find a bi-directional charging module, a LAN / WiFi module guaranteeing connection, the control of a photovoltaic system to use the energy generated by the sun and the battery. The system is integrated and automated in order to optimize what is produced on the roof in the best possible way and channel this energy into recharging the car or, if it is not available, into the battery pack, which is made up of modules to also allow for expansion.

The goal of the final version will be drive up to 6 kW photovoltaic at the input (works in one phase) e 6 to 12 kWh (with additional modules) for storage, in three cuts: 6, 9 and 12 kWh.

In addition to showing the Energy Hub 149, Silla will also trim the famous Prism wallbox in a new version at the Paris Motor Show. Prism Plusequipped with an internet connection to recharge the car even at night and to control the speaker even remotely Wallegg, single-phase charging column, equipped with a socket and designed for the b2b market. The company will also bring Duke 44a new column that introduces 44 kW DC charging, resulting in bidirectional charging.

Introduced as a prototype, the Duke 44, in addition to the benefits of fast and efficient charging, offers bi-directional DC charging for V2H (car-to-home), V2G (car-to-power) and V2V (car-to-car) functions. . The new speaker is able to switch energy from the car system to the home, network and other car system, also thanks to the 22 kW dual continuous connector.

Alberto SteccaCEO of Silla Industries, at Energy Hub 149 said:

Once again, we want to anticipate the future and stay ahead of the market by offering consumers a solution that can adapt to today’s needs, but even more to tomorrow’s needs. Products such as the Energy Hub 149 are designed to integrate components that are usually separate and from different brands, namely solar energy, electric vehicle charging and storage solutions. Combining smart energy management and vehicle charging in one device helps to increase its efficiency.

It will be some time before the Silla 149 is available for purchase, but the company is working hard to complete development, finalize the interface and software, and start production.
