Abarth 500e, more powerful versions coming November 25, 2022 114

The Abarth 500e is a new small sports car from the Scorpion brand. The model that was presented, as you know, a few days ago. Apparently, the automaker is working on even more productive options which will be offered in the future. News that comes directly from Olivier FrancoisCEO of Fiat and Abarth.

According to reports, Abarth will go down a path similar to what was taken with the 500 endothermic engine, which is offered in 595 and 695 variants.

Everyone is already working to make this car even faster, even sportier, even louder.

Recall that the new Abarth 500e is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 114 kW – 155 hp. with a maximum torque of 235 Nm. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 km/h and it takes 7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. However, Abarth engineers have hinted that this power is close to the limits of the current powertrain, which is strictly derived from the “classic” electric 500. This means that future more powerful variants may have a different motor or different batteries. In time, there will still be a way to find out.

Abarth will expand beyond the 500e in the future. Olivier Francois noted that there will be new models as Fiat’s range grows in the future. The Italian brand is working on 10 cars, 5 of which will arrive in the next 5 years. However, the number one brand emphasized that not all future Fiat models will feature the Abarth counterpart. It will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

All of these models could have a potential version of the Abarth, but it doesn’t make sense to make it for everyone. In the future, we will evaluate each individual model and see if it is worth converting to an Abarth model.

So it looks like Abarth will introduce several new models over the next few years, obviously also electric, given the future of the Stellantis Group. It remains only to wait for more information.
