According to Asghar Faranaki, food technologist and co-author of the study, he and his team have succeeded in creating a versatile product. Scientists believe that adding FiberX to white bread, hamburger buns, pizza and muffins is similar to parents adding healthy vegetables to their children’s diets by hiding them in other foods.

In testing, scientists were able to add up to 20% FiberX to recipes without harming taste, smell or texture. Further research and refinement in manufacturing technology will be required to bring the new drug into large-scale production, but the results of the study are promising.
