Volunteers built a mobile reconnaissance station based on the Soviet Volga car for the Ukrainian army. The video was posted by blogger Special Kherson Cat. twitter

Mechanics turned the Volga into a pickup truck, cutting off part of the passenger compartment and equipping an open space for cargo transportation. In the aft part of the fuselage, a folding telescopic mast was placed on metal racks, which, when folded, are placed horizontally without interfering with the movement.

If necessary, the car is fixed with four supports, the antenna is fixed in a vertical position with cables, and then raised ten meters. The purpose of the equipment was not disclosed, possibly acting as a communications relay, allowing the military to stay in contact on the front lines. A quadcopter, which can be seen in the video, hints that the station could be used to increase the range of the UAV.

On the body of the “Volga” the logo of the Ukrainian volunteer organization “Pekelna cuisine”, originally from Kharkov, is displayed. He assists the army by providing food and necessary equipment.

“We have a kitchen, a furnace, a service station for the repair of military vehicles, generators and unmanned aerial vehicles; we buy cars, military ammunition, etc.,” said Yevgeny Goroshko, co-founder of the organization, in an interview with DOU.
