“Proven to perform well”: APU receives a new batch of Punisher attack drones (video)

Operators are trained for four weeks and then sent to the front with drones.

Ukrainian attack aircraft Punisher proved itself during the hostilities, destroying the invaders. Anatoliy Stefan (Stirlitz), an officer and blogger of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, talked about this in an interview with Apostroph TV.

According to him, two Punisher complexes are now transferred to the intelligence units of the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other units of the Defense Forces. Operators train for four weeks, go through the training exercise, and then go to the front line with the drones.

Anatoly Stefan, “On behalf of the commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev, we express our gratitude especially to the people of Ukraine who raised funds for these drones.” said.

In 2016, the Punisher reconnaissance and attack systems were developed by the Ukrainian company UA Dynamics. The devices are used by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a cheaper alternative to rockets and cannons. The UAV can drop various types of 75 mm bombs with an accuracy of up to 4 m and can fire three shells in one sortie. Additionally, the built-in camera allows for aerial reconnaissance.

The Punisher is set up using a catapult every 15 minutes and takes flight. The military can quickly identify a load to begin performing certain combat missions, such as delivering medical supplies to the wounded.

Features of the Punisher attack aircraft:

  • Wingspan: 2m;
  • Travel speed: 80 km/h;
  • Top speed: 198 km/h;
  • Flight range: up to 45 km;
  • Effective altitude: up to 400 m;
  • Flight time: 80 min.;
  • Permissible wind speed: 21 m/s.

In November, Boombox frontman Andriy Khlyvnyuk demonstrated how MTRs are using Punisher drones on the front lines. His group chose a position in the forest belt, arrived there in trucks, set up the UAV, planted the bombs, raised the antennas and sent the drone into the sky. Controlling the “bird” with the help of a remote control, the operator fired a bullet at the mortar position of the RF Armed Forces, and then safely returned the device.

They wrote about what other military drones are produced in Ukraine. In addition to the Punisher, the Raybird-3, PD-2, RAM II UAV, Leleka-100 and Fury drones gained a good reputation during the war.
