11 of the best Ukrainian aircraft that fought with the invaders: description, features

What are the famous “Dovbush”, “Inquisitor”, “Elf”, “Sorcerer” and other UAVs created by Ukrainian engineers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine?

A full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for more than 10 months, and during this time, many teams have been formed in the country developing domestic drones. Portal dev.ua talked about the unique Ukrainian drones helping the military on the battlefield.

Reconnaissance aircraft “Dovbush T10”

A group of engineers from Dnipro created the Dovbush T10 unmanned reconnaissance aircraft, which has been tested on the front lines since the beginning of the war. They have recently started mass production of drones.

The Dovbush T10 is armed with six RPG grenades, each powerful enough to destroy a tank, other military equipment or manpower of the RF Armed Forces. During testing, the drone showed an accuracy of three meters at a drop height of 100 meters – a good indicator, although the developers plan to improve it.

It is recorded that software and special hardware protect the drone from Russian electronic warfare. For example, the device does not leave a thermal mark and its body is made of materials that cannot be detected by radars.

eBosh Kamikaze UAV

The engineers of the Ukrainian enterprise Black Raven assembled an inexpensive eBOSH unmanned aerial vehicle designed to destroy the equipment of the Russian Armed Forces. This is a light and fast quadrocopter with a plastic tube on which the VOG-17 bomb is loaded. The operator controls the drone with the help of first-person glasses, and a special design allows you to rotate the device at any angle during flight.

The Black Raven tested the eBOSH drone, destroying the Moskvich car. Thanks to the first-person view, the accuracy of the kamikaze UAV is very high, but its range is only 2 km, although the developers promised to double it. At the same time, the speed reaches 150 km / h.

Kharkiv plane “Elf”

The company ELF-systems from Kharkov recently presented an unmanned Elven drone for reconnaissance at medium distances (up to 150 km). It received an anti-interference navigation system to detect Russian electronic warfare systems. Radars can “see” the aircraft, but due to its small size and light materials it is easy to mistake it for a bird.

“Elf”, according to the developers, combines good performance with a low price and unpretentious care. It was designed to replace expensive foreign counterparts and has already been tested in military units in eastern Ukraine.

Scout – UAV Shark

In October, Ukrspecsystems presented the Ukrainian unmanned reconnaissance system Shark, the main feature of which is a camera with 30x optical zoom, which allows to view the positions of the Russian Armed Forces at a distance of up to 5 km. Engineers were able to lift the device into the sky just six months after development began.

The shark can scout to target HIMARS MLRS, flying behind the invaders at a distance of up to 60 km. Flight time is more than 4 hours, and it takes only 15 minutes to prepare and launch the drone using a catapult.

“Sorcerer” – a drone from the Dnieper

Aircraft modelers from the Dnieper for several months developed a reconnaissance aircraft “Koldun” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performing frontline reconnaissance. The aircraft-type unmanned vehicle is highly resistant to electronic warfare and is almost invisible from the ground. It can fly autonomously and survey the surface from an altitude of 300-500 m.

Initially, a team from the Federation of Aircraft Modeling Sports of the Dnepropetrovsk region assembled the “Sorcerers” piecemeal, but now they are in mass production. The equipment allows you to make up to 200 UAVs per month, if there are components.

Similar to Shahed comes from Krivoy Rog

CoolOn founder Vitaly Bryzgalov has developed a brigade-level kamikaze drone with a flight range of about 300 km. Iranian UAVs on the Shahed line fly farther, but the Ukrainian model can still reach critical facilities in Russia.

The main cost of the drone is $ 2,000, ten times cheaper than the Shahed-136. The drone carries a 10 kg warhead designed to destroy warehouses and armored vehicles of the RF Armed Forces.

Ukrainian replacement of Mavic and Autel

IT specialists Andrey Budzinsky from Lvov, Yaroslav Sadovoy and Oleg Penderetsky developed quadrocopters for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, capable of firing projectiles up to 2 kg at opponents. It received four independent reset systems that allow you to individually lower the ammo.

A drone costs $3300. Now Lviv engineers are raising money for the transfer of the UAV to the soldiers of the 503rd separate battalion of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Military drone “Domakha” from Zaporozhye

Zaporozhye engineers presented the Domakha military drone, which got its name from the Cossack sword. The design with good aerodynamics allows the aircraft to perform combat missions even in harsh weather conditions that quadcopters cannot cope with.

In the current configuration, Domakha can only reconnaissance at a distance of up to 50 km, but in the future the developers plan to create a shock version. The camera transmits high definition video so that the operator can aim the gunners and adjust the fire.

Mysterious drone from Kropyvnytskyi

A new reconnaissance aircraft was created in the Kirovograd region, which will be tested by the Special Operations Forces. According to the developers, the drone received functions and features that commercial drones cannot provide.

Declared characteristics of the UAV:

  • Wingspan: more than 2 m;
  • Weight: 5kg
  • Test range: 25km
  • Flight altitude: about 500 m.

“Shahedov Catcher” – UAV from Lviv

A group of enthusiasts under the auspices of Lviv businessman Andrei Matsola created quadrocopters to intercept Iranian kamikaze drones in the future. The helicopter lifts weight up to 16 kg and in a real battle can deliver up to 2 kg of ammunition at a distance of 20 km. It can drop ammunition on Russian tanks in an open area or fly into buildings, hitting enemy manpower.

The team plans to transfer about 100 homemade quadrocopters to the military and train the same number of operators in the next three months. Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believe that such devices, if systematically used, will greatly help the army.

Drone “Investigator”

Soldiers from the 56th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with engineers, began to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle called the Inquisitor. So far, the creators have only one computer model of the device, but they assure that as soon as they collect the money and buy the necessary equipment, everyone calculates it correctly and is ready to assemble the UAV. It is assumed that the “Inquisitor” can fly at speeds of up to 100 km / h at a distance of up to 25 km from the operator, and will be practically invulnerable to electronic warfare due to the duplication of control frequencies.

“It will become a universal “bird” for both reconnaissance and attacking enemy equipment,” said one soldier with the call sign “Raccoon.”
