A UK resident spotted three sharks using his quadcopter at a popular beach in Australia and alerted rescuers. Reported by the Daily Mail.
David Alfonso, his wife Kirsty, their two-year-old son Sonny and other relatives spent a family vacation on Milap Beach.
While watching the water with a drone, a man noticed sharks a few meters from the beach.
“I noticed several sharks at once in shallow water within 30 seconds. It was about two to three meters from shore, one of the predators swam towards the swimmers,” he said.
According to him, there were hundreds of people on the beach who spent their Christmas vacation this way.
The shark looked like a six-foot bronze whaler, so the man immediately informed his wife, and she called for rescuers.
“We showed him the drone footage via Facetime so he can go and take a closer look,” the man said.
Rescuers evacuated the swimmers from the water.
The beach was closed for four hours when sharks were nearby.
Another shark, about three meters long, looked like a great white.
David Alfonso is a wildlife photographer and regularly posts about sharks on social media.
According to him, despite all precautions, sharks do not always pose a real threat to swimmers.
“I think they’ve been unfairly defamed. They can be scary, but they’re usually extremely unlikely to pose a real danger,” he explained.
“Sharks are an integral and important part of our ecosystem,” added the researcher.
Recall when scientists first filmed how nurse sharks eat. It turns out that they walk on fins and stand on their heads.
Previously Focus reports that researchers have solved the mystery of strange holes in tuna caught in Australia. Cutter sharks cling to their prey and thus begin to spin, “cutting” round pieces of meat.
