The State Concern conducted several aerial tests of a kamikaze drone, which the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny ordered to do. Its uniqueness is that it attacks enemy targets multiple times.
Ukroboronprom State Concern has successfully conducted several air tests of a Ukrainian attack aircraft capable of hitting enemy targets at a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. This was announced by the concern’s spokesperson, Natalia Sad, at a briefing on 13 January.
The speaker noted that the development of the Ukrainian attack aircraft, with a flight range of up to 1,000 kilometers and a possible payload of up to 75 kilograms, has reached a stage where nothing can be said.
In October 2022, Ukroboronprom announced the completion of the development of an attack aircraft. Production of the first sample was accelerated and tested in the air.
“We are preparing for the next stage – we demonstrate the capabilities of this complex to the leadership of the Security and Defense Forces,” said the concern.
Ukrainian counterpart of the Kamikaze drone Shahed: what is known about it?
New Ukrainian UAVs “Ukroboronprom” began to be produced in the summer of 2022 by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny. The device is designed for different tasks – hitting targets and setting fire. UAVs were also tested through electronic warfare.
According to Natalia Sad, the development of the drone took 6 to 10 years. In part, the device will be made from foreign components that are not available in Ukraine.
The Ukroboronprom drone will have a turn function to attack enemy targets multiple times. Yuri Kasyanov, the founder of A.Drones, did not approve of this innovation – he believes that the new device will be much more expensive than Iranian drones and will not bring success on the battlefield.
Focus previously wrote that the Ukrainians managed to collect 352 million hryvnia for the RAM II UAV unmanned aerial vehicles. Some modifications of these UAVs can fly 200 and 800 kilometers.
Greece is developing an advanced Griffin (Γρύπας) drone with vertical take-off technology similar to the US F-35B fighter jet.
Recall that the Israeli company Elbit Systems will send to the UK small Magni-X UAVs for electronic warfare, which are almost invisible and can fit in a backpack.
