Scouts from Transcarpathia plan to assemble a mini-fleet of five assault UAVs for a special operation against the Russian army.
Volunteer reconnaissance battalion “Solnyshko” from the Transcarpathian region creates shock drones equipped with machine guns and grenade launchers. Transcarpathian journalist Pavlo Fedaka reported this on his Facebook page.
Ukrainian experts have been overhauling ready-made drones for several months, attaching small arms to them. The first experimental prototype showed itself in practice – the cost of its modification is 80 thousand UAH.
“The drone shoots from the sky with a machine gun and rains powerful lightning bolts from above provided by our Western partners,” said Pavel.
In the near future, they plan to modify 4 more drones from the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration and Chop City Council. The UAVs will be mass-produced so that the manufacturer can reduce the cost from UAH 80,000 to UAH 60,000 per unit.
In October, they wrote that Ukrainian engineers attached a machine gun to an Octocopter. According to the developers, such a flying turret with a stabilizer will be able to cope with the Shahed-136 kamikaze aircraft. Outwardly, the aircraft is similar to that shown by Solnyshko DBR.
In August, information emerged that Iran launched a Karrar unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a six-barreled Akhgar 7.62 mm machine gun. According to sources, the possibilities of the design were tested during the exercises. Even a video appeared on the network, but of rather low quality.
