Electronic money is officially allowed in Ukraine: when will it be possible to pay with it?

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the relevant law.

According to the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, today President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the use of electronic money in Ukraine. In addition to regulating the circulation of electronic money, this document identifies users’ e-wallets with their bank accounts.

According to the law, now every Ukrainian can pay, for example, for utilities with electronic money (if the organization accepts such payments). In addition, electronic money law allows the provision of electronic versions of payments confirming transactions. Thanks to the law, it is now possible not to withdraw cash during a business trip. And now only a bank statement and supporting documents (if any) are needed for the tax trip report. If the citizen has not exceeded his daily expenses in cash, you cannot report to the tax office on a business trip.

However, electronic money reconciliations will only start to work after the war. Payments by electronic money are limited in Ukraine during martial law.
