Alfa Romeo celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Quadrifoglio with a festive logo February 09, 2023 0

Alfa Romeo celebrations began in honor of 100 years of the Quadrifoglio symbol and 60 years of Autodelta. On this occasion, the automaker presented two new holiday logoscreated by the Alfa Romeo Style Center. Logos that will be present throughout 2023 in communication activities and in two important innovations, which, however, no details have been added. Is this a nod to the much-discussed new Alfa Romeo supercar?

FOUR-LEAF COVER

How it was born the Quadrifoglio logo that identifies the more sporty versions of the car manufacturer? Everything was born in 1923, during the XIV edition of the Targa Florio. A special Corsa version of the new RL was prepared for the competition. At that time, the Italian marque also decided to equip the car with a “good luck charm” by painting a four-leaf clover on the car’s hood. The big victory came to Alfa Romeo. Since then Quadrifoglio has been identifying Alfa Romeo racing cars.

Over time, the same initial “Q” became part of the Alfa Romeo lexicon, coming to designate the most advanced technical solutions: the most famous of all is the all-wheel drive Q4, but there was also the Q2 limited-slip differential, automatic Q-System and Q-Tronic, and this is only some of them. The new logo was designed to redefine a classic in a modern way. Here is how Alfa Romeo describes it:

In particular, the Quadrifoglio centenary logo shows the solidity and elegance of the historical logo by developing only the color point. Thus, a modern chromatic touch that harks back to the glorious past of iconic Alfa Romeo cars and victories that have entered the collective imagination.

To celebrate the anniversary of the Quadrifoglio logo, June 25th is Cloverleaf Day.the day when the parade of Quadrifoglio cars and flash mobs will take place, open to all Alfa Romeo clubs.

AUTODELTA

It was March 5, 1963, when Carlo Citi and the Cizzola brothers founded a small company near Udine with the aim of collaborating with Alfa Romeo in the construction of the Giulia TZ. Thus, Autodelta was born. which in 1965 was acquired directly by Alfa Romeo, becoming a division of the Italian brand Corso.

Over time, Autodelta has also become the training ground for many Italian riders, including Andrea De Adamic, Arturo Merzario, Andrea De Cesaris, Bruno Giacomelli, Giorgio Francia and many other foreign champions from Jochen Rindt to Jacky Ickx. , from Jean Pierre Jarier to Mario Andretti.

And in this case, the logo created for the anniversary does not distort the original, but only rethinks it in a modern way. Alfa Romeo has also decided to commemorate the Autodelta anniversary with a special press conference on March 5 at the Arese Museum.
