Maliuska forced ChatGPT to write a law on the legalization of prostitution: what happened?

The neural network compiled the document, keeping the traditional structure. First of all, he explained who the “prostitutes” were and determined their legal status.

The Minister of Justice of Ukraine asked the ChatGPT chatbot to draft a law on the legalization of prostitution. He posted a response on his Facebook page.

According to Denis Malyuska, ChatGPT took just 30 seconds to write the invoice. The minister joked that very soon his department could be downsized and replace officials with artificial intelligence.

Judging by the screenshot that Denis Malyuska posted on Facebook, the neural network tried to follow the inherent structure of the invoices by dividing the text into sections and articles. In the first part, he explained the purpose and goal of the project: to legitimize the activities of the “love nuns”, to ensure their rights and reduce the negative impact of their work. Here he also stated the meaning of the main terms:

  • Prostitution is a type of activity associated with the provision of sexual services in exchange for money or other remuneration.
  • Prostitutes are prostitutes.
  • Customers are people who use the services of prostitutes.

In the second part, ChatGPT explained the legal status that should be given to prostitutes. In particular, to give them the right to engage in sexual activity without restriction on religious, ethical or moral grounds.

The issue of legalizing prostitution in Ukraine has been on the agenda for a long time. In 2018, the idea was supported by the former head of the National Police and now Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko. In his opinion, law enforcement will never be able to eliminate the illegal provision of sexual services, so it is better to organize this process at the legislative level.

In February 2020, Timofey Milovanov, then Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Land Resources, spoke in favor of legalizing prostitution. He pointed out that sex workers are not protected in any way, and that human trafficking and slavery flourish in it.

On February 18, 2023, the ChatGPT chatbot became available to users in Ukraine. OpenAI launched the service in November 2022, blocking access for countries subject to international sanctions. For a long time, Ukraine was also considered a forbidden zone, but now the restrictions apply only to the occupied territory.
