Community Notes: How Twitter’s Misinformation Tool Works

Twitter has introduced a new feature related to community notes that will allow make it easier for users to get more information or context on a particular topic.

“Starting today, you will receive a notification if a community note starts showing up in a Tweet that you have replied to, liked, or retweeted. It helps give people extra context they might otherwise miss out on,” the official Community Notes Twitter account says.

This will allow users to start get notified when someone replies to a tweet that has a community note added to it after the original tweet was posted. This is especially useful for those who are interested in keeping up with certain important topics or news and want to be aware of any additional information that is added later.

Since its release, Community Notes have been used by world-famous figures in various publications.. For example, former US President Donald Trump has been tagged multiple times with community notes that provide context or confirmation of additional information about his tweets. Similarly, Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has also been tagged with community notes in various tweets.

Fighting disinformation
