DESIGN AND INTERIORS

Beneath the center screen are several keys that allow you to quickly access the main menu, climate control settings, applications, driving assistance, phone, multimedia functions and vehicle settings.

The center console has new EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission selector. In the hybrid versions we also find the brake button (B) which serves to increase the efficiency of the regenerative braking to improve energy recovery. In the case of the gasoline version, it is replaced by the Manual (M) button, which allows you to manually control the gear ratios using the steering wheel paddles. In addition, there is a drive mode selector that allows the driver to select different types of driving (electric, economy, hybrid, normal, sport and 4WD) depending on the engine available.

ENGINES AND SAFETY

Speaking of engines, the new Peugeot 508 can count on two internal combustion engines and three plug-ins. There Peugeot 508 PureTech 130 EAT8 offers a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine with 130 hp. (96 kW) mated to an 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. Then we have BlueHDi 130EAT8: 1.5-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine with 130 hp (96 kW) and 8-speed automatic transmission EAT8.

Moving on to plug-in hybrid powertrains, Plug-in hybrid Peugeot 508 180 e-EAT8 offers a 150 hp PureTech petrol engine. (110 kW) in combination with a 110 hp electric motor. (81 kW), which gives a total power of 180 hp. (132 kW). Then we have Plug-in hybrid 225 e-EAT8 with 180 hp PureTech petrol engine. (132 kW) in combination with a 110 hp electric motor. At the top of the range is the Peugeot 508 PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) with a powertrain consisting of a 200 hp PureTech petrol engine. (147 kW) in combination with a 110 hp electric motor. (83 kW) rear, total 360 hp (275 kW). The transmission is always an 8-speed automatic. All 3 plug-in models feature a 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. Battery that can be powered by 3.7 kW or 7.4 kW AC depending on the selected charger. Peugeot has not announced a range in purely electric mode, which, however, should not change much from the current 48-54 km. Nothing about performance either.

Speaking of safety, the 508 offers a full suite of driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go function, active safety brake, lane keep assist, driver warning and advanced traffic sign recognition.
