Land Rover Working on Defender SVX Development February 24, 2023 1

Land Rovers is working on a new version of Defender that will offer maximum performance both on and off the road. Yes it should call Defender SVX and may debut between late 2023 and early 2024. Get up close and personal with this new forklift model thanks to a series of new spy photos.

V8 ENGINE

The images show that the Defender is still in disguise. However, several interesting details can be noted. For example, we can see wider wheel arches. and increased ground clearance. The forklift was also fitted with BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires. It is likely that the Land Rover Defender SVX will also be able to rely on a special suspension setup to more easily handle any road conditions, even the most difficult ones. The front end camouflage suggests that some design tweaks may also be on the way.

On the other hand, the front and rear lights seem to be the same as the model we already know. From behind we can also observe 4 exhaust pipes which assume the presence of a V8 engine. However, some rumors claim that the British brand would prefer to use BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 (likely the one used on the Range Rover) rather than the supercharged 5-litre V8 already featured on the Defender V8 (386 kW/525 hp).

More information should emerge in the coming months that will allow us to better understand the choice of the English manufacturer regarding the engine of this new version of the Defender. One thing is clear: Land Rover is working on a very special Defender.

We’ll talk about prices soon. However, the Land Rover Defender SVX should be the top Defender model. Therefore, it is possible that it will cost something more than about 140 thousand euros of the current versions equipped with a V8 engine.
