UAV “2 in 1” Vector received a number of updates: the APU will like it (photo)

At IDEX 2023, Quantum Systems also introduced another drone concept, the Trinity Tactical.

Quantum Systems Sales Director Martin Herkommer told reporters during the IDEX 2023 event that Ukrainian troops are currently deploying 50 2-in-1 drones operating in Vector (fixed wing) and Scorpion (helicopter) configurations. This was reported by Shephard.

Herkommer said the company has received orders for 105 of these drones. According to him, this indicates that the Vector / Scorpion system is very popular with the military, including the Ukrainians. The company also said that other systems they ship to Ukraine are in less demand. First, when the Russian military tried to disrupt the communication of operators with Vector / Scorpion drones, Ukraine was able to constantly use drones in the absence of GPS. As a result, the Russians did not manage to land a single UAV.

Second, the drone takes up minimal space and can be launched from anywhere thanks to vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technology. The aircraft is controlled by a ground control station (GCS), which allows a single operator to monitor all the steps involved in a mission, from planning to execution. The article proved that this ease of use is invaluable to the APU.

But these drones are popular not only in Ukraine. In October 2022, the system was delivered to the Netherlands and the US Marine Corps.

At the same exhibition, Quantum Systems presented the concept of the Trinity Tactical drone model. This fixed-wing UAV with VTOL capability is the next version developed from Trinity F90+. It can carry high-resolution RGB cameras, multispectral cameras and LiDAR sensors as payloads.

Like Vector/Scorpion, Trinity is controlled by software installed on a laptop, for example. The device fits in a backpack, so it is very convenient to carry it. It works using an encrypted communication channel. Characteristics of the future drone: weight – 5.5 kg, wingspan – 2.4 m, payload – 1 kg, maximum flight height – 4,500 m.

remember before Focus He wrote that Russia is bringing “defective” Cube drones to IDEX 2023. American expert Samuel Bendett stated that KUB failed the Russians many times, it did not disappear or explode.

It was also reported that a factory for the production of cheap kamikaze drones was opened in Ukraine. Engineers buy parts from partners at very low prices and make their own ammo.
