According to Lauren Barrett Knausenberger, CIO of the US Air Force, AI, and in particular ChatGPT, can simplify both workflow and task synchronization across all departments, writes Defense One.
Artificial intelligence can help gather information quickly, such as who is responsible for an organization in a particular operation. For example, the official says that ChatGPT can perform the duties of three officers involved in processing and analyzing information. Officers, on the other hand, can be entrusted with a different job front, which will save a significant amount of time and effort for the military.
Knausenberger is about to leave his post soon, but before that he promises to complete a project to simplify, automate and comprehensively synchronize the devices the military uses in his department. The inclusion of this task will be solved thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence and ChatGPT chatbot functions. The CIO points out that the more comprehensive the computing infrastructure becomes, the harder it is to manage and synchronize devices.
In addition, the Pentagon plans to implement artificial intelligence in projects such as finance and audit accounting by 2025. The US Air Force wants to bring its various services together in a single vehicle stack. One of the pressing problems that AI will try to solve is optimizing inbound and outbound traffic between all departments in military bases scattered around the world.
