Military drones Orbiter 2 are significantly modernized: they will become even more dangerous for the enemy

These mini drones are already considered among the best, but military UAVs will become even more advanced with Aeronautics’ new improvement package.

Israeli company Aeronautics Ltd., the world leader in the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles for the military market, has signed an agreement with the Finnish army to modernize its fleet of Orbiter 2 drones, sUASnews reported. After the decision to join NATO, the Finnish armed forces are looking for ways to completely replace military UAVs in the face of modern threats from Russia.

The Orbiter 2 mini UAV is a small, lightweight and versatile unmanned aerial vehicle that can be deployed quickly and efficiently in any combat environment. It has advanced surveillance and communication systems (ISR). The upgrade package will include a full suite of sensors, avionics and data processing systems to improve system performance. The contract also provides for the maintenance and subsequent modernization of the drone fleet over the next 10 years.

Additionally, the Orbiter 2 is perfect for use by drones, navy, and homeland security. For example, this drone could serve to combat terrorism, assist in border control, and monitor mass gatherings of people.

Communication between the drone and the operator is securely encrypted using the AES-256 algorithm, and the drone itself has an advanced flight control system and an accurate navigation system, including operation in GPS-free areas.

Previously Focus He wrote that China has created supersonic drones to be launched alongside J-20 warplanes. Military experts expect the FH-97A to fly as fast as the J-20 and make up for the lack of missiles during combat.
